They Covered Up My Botched Surgery, Now I Am Bankrupting Their Entire Hospital System

Chapter 18: The Ledge

Elena aggressively shoved her wheelchair out of the speeding accessible van before Marcus even fully slammed it into park. They had violently broken every single speed limit rushing to the towering, glass-fronted hospital.

She violently bypassed the heavily guarded main lobby, aggressively utilizing a hidden, restricted service elevator she vividly remembered from her agonizing three-month rehabilitation stay.

The heavy metal doors finally ground open onto the desolate, wind-swept roof. The freezing night air violently whipped Elena's hair across her face as she desperately scanned the terrifyingly high, unprotected concrete ledge.

"Chloe!" Elena screamed over the deafening roar of the massive, industrial air conditioning units. The sheer potential for massive emotional distress damages and horrific pain and suffering compensation meant absolutely nothing right now.

Chloe stood entirely motionless on the very edge of the towering thirty-story drop. Her toes were completely over the horrifying abyss, her tear-stained face totally utterly devoid of any remaining hope.

"They took absolutely everything from me, Elena," Chloe sobbed violently, the howling wind aggressively tearing the completely devastated words from her trembling lips. "If I testify, they will completely destroy my family, too."

Elena desperately pushed her heavy wheelchair completely forward, her numb, paralyzed legs violently vibrating from the intense mechanical effort. She was absolutely terrified of the catastrophic injury liability playing out right in front of her.

"Please, Chloe, we finally have the absolute proof we need to totally destroy him!" Elena pleaded, desperately reaching her trembling hand out toward the completely broken nurse. "You don't have to be a tragic mental anguish claim!"

Chloe looked back at Elena with completely dead, utterly empty eyes, whispered a totally silent apology to the wind, and completely stepped off the terrifying ledge.
